All the elimination round will be on 23rd August, 2006.
and the finals will be on 24th August, 2006.

RULES AND REGULATIONS FOR JHANKAAR.

1. SOLO DANCE:
   • The duration of the dance should be in between 3 minutes.
   • It may be a western, Indian classical or semi-  classical dance. But the use of western moves should be minimum. (Participation will be subject to the judgement of  the co-ordinators or judges)

2. GROUP DANCE:
   • The group should comprise of minimum 3 and a maximum of 8 members.
   • The song should be of maximum 5 minutes duration.
   • The use of Western movements should be minimum.
   • The group should bring their own audio CD, Cassettes etc.

3. SOLO SINGING:
   • There will be three rounds.
   • The 1st round will be the selection round in which the participants are suppose to sing the song of their own choice without orchestra.
   • The participants qualifying in the first round will be selected for the second round.
   • In 2nd round the song for boys and girls are as follows:
     Boys – Bholi si surat ankho mein masti…. (Film: Dil to pagal hai)
     Girls – Agar tum mil jao….. (Film: Zeher)
   • The 3rd and final round will be of judges round, i.e. the song will be of judges choice.
   • NOTE:
     • It should be a Hindi song.
     • Participants should sing the Antra and Mukhda of the selected song.
     • The participants are responsible to synchronize with the orchestra well in advance.

4. DUET SINGING:
   • In the 1st round participants should sing the song as per their choice (without orchestra).
   • In the 2nd round they should sing only melody songs with orchestra.
   • In the 3rd round participants should sing the song of Bollywood Superstar Couples like Sharukh-Kajol, Abhishek-Rani, Amitabh-Rekha, Shahid-Kareena as per the judges choice.
   • NOTE:
     • It should be a Hindi song.
     • Participants should sing the Antra and Mukhda of the selected song.
     • The participants are responsible to synchronize with the orchestra well in advance.

5. LAUGHTER DOSE:
   • The comment should not be related to any individual, caste, religion, creed, physical or mental deformity it should not hurt any individual’s feeling in any manner.
   • Any gesture, posture or words should not involve vulgarity.
   • 1st round is of elimination round in which each participants will be given 3minutes each to perform.
   • 2nd round i.e. the final round in which the selected participants will be given 5 minutes each to perform.

6. Mr. MARS & Ms. VENUS:
   • The main focus of this competition will be on Talent and Personality.
   • Only two students are allowed for participation from each college. i.e. One Male and One Female.
   • The elimination round will be conducted before final round on 23rd , August.
   • The participants selected in the elimination round will be showcased on 24th August, which is the grand finale of Jhankaar.
   • The final round will be of judges choice and it would be based on Indian values, culture and ethics.
   • Indian Traditional dress is compulsory for the finalists.
   • The participant has to bring his/her own traditional dress for the final round.
   • Cat walk will not carry any positive marking.
