PROGRAM STRUCTURE

TIMS PGDM program is rigorous and well structured into SIX Trimesters over a period of two years.

Year I  : Trimester I, II and III
Year II : Trimester IV, V and VI

FIRST YEAR

The first year provides an overview of organizations, functional areas and sound understanding of necessary managerial skills in analytical, quantitative and computing areas. This lays the foundation for appreciating the scope of management and helps crystallize the students' interest for advanced courses in different areas offered in the second year. All the courses of Year I are compulsory.

SECOND YEAR

During the second year, in addition to a few compulsory courses, students have to choose optional courses in elective areas. The total number of courses opted by the students must meet the credit requirements of the institute. The detailed information about the credit system will be given to the students on joining the program. The students are encouraged to take a holistic view of the management process rather than looking at it from functional specialization while choosing courses in the second year. The institute provides option for Major and Minor Specialization in Marketing, Finance and Human Resource. Alternatively, students may opt for General Management by mixing the courses from different elective areas.

For minor specialization in any elective area, 10 credit courses are required to be opted by the student, out of which one course will be compulsory as follows :

  • Finance - Management Control Systems
  • Marketing - Consumer Behaviour & Marketing Strategy
