14th CONVOCATION 2010
On 1st May 2010 Tolani Institute of Management Studies popularly known as TIMS organized its 14th Convocation Day for its 2008 – 2010 graduating batch.
This occasion was graced by the presence of the Chief Guest Padmashree Dr. Bakul Dholakiya (Advisor Adani Group of Industries & former Director IIM – A), Dr. Amar Karlo (Provost, Ahemdabad University & former Director of IIM – Kozhikode). The event was presided over by Madam Anjana Hazari (President Gandhidham Collegiate Board).
111 graduating students of batch 2008-10 were conferred on the PGDM awards on this auspicious ceremony. The medals and certificates were awarded to Jaykishan Joshi- Gold medal for securing the 1st Rank, Mehul Rakholiya- Silver medal for 2nd rank, Anita Ahuja- Bonze medal for 3rd rank in overall PGDM. Prizes and merit certificates were also awarded to Ranu Goyal for 1st rank in Marketing specialization, Jaykishan Joshi for 1st rank in finance specialization and Anita Ahuja for 1st rank in Human resource specialization.
The program commenced with lighting the lamp by the dignitaries and Prayer by Monali Jani. Madam Anjana Hazari welcomed the guests and invitees and thanked all the stakeholders for contributing to the growth and development of TIMS. Prof. L.H. Daryani, Campus Director, GCB introduced the chief guest Dr. Bakul Dholakia.
Director PGDM, Prof. A J Bhambhani welcomed the august gathering and advised the graduating students to uphold the professional ethics in the corporate world and wished them best of luck for succeeding in their careers and life. He briefed the audience about the achievements and important milestones that TIMS had embarked upon during the academic year 2009 – 2010.
Dr. A H Karlo, a senior advisor on the governing board of TIMS since inception, addressed the students and enlightened them with the success mantras for their career and life. He also inspired them to be courageous, have self confidence and have faith to grow in the corporate world.
Padmashri Dr. Bakul Dholakia, in his convocation speech, emphasized on the necessity of highly qualified professionals to ensure that India could maintain its momentum of growth and progress. He also stressed upon the need of qualitative institutes in Gujarat and in India, who could provide the right platform to the young generations of the country to recognize their potential and build on their skills and capabilities. While congratulating the graduating students, he hugely applauded TIMS’s achievements and the vision of its management.
Prof. L. H. Daryani, Campus Director, Prof. H. K. Kriplani, Adminstrator, Mrs. Nirmala Gajwani, chairperson, SRC, Didi Krishna Bhambhani, along with other distinguished guests and invitees from different social and professional associations/organizations, corporate organizations, principals and other staff members of Tolani Vidya Mandir Campus, and people from press and media were also present at the ceremony and made the event the most memorable one.
The master of ceremony was Dr. Tejas Pujara, Faculty ( TIMS ) and vote of Thanks was presented by Prof. Suresh Lalwani. More than 700 audiences graced the occasion by their valued presence.
On the Convocation eve on 30th April 2010, a cultural program was presented by the students of TIMS. They also showed their live memories and moments spent at TIMS through the documentaries prepared by them. |
