DRAFT FOR ‘ALUMNI CHAPTER FORMATION’

OBJECTIVE
  1. Better networking amongst TIMS alumni located at different places for mutual benefits of the alumni across the batches
  2. Better institute-alumni networking for mutual benefits.
ACTIVITIES TO BE CONDUCTED BY THE CHAPTER
  1. Regularly meeting at least once a quarter and knowing about each-other’s whereabouts
  2. Organizing seminars/workshops for the alumni
  3. Inter-chapter associations and interactions for the alumni moving to another locations
FURTHER SUGGESTED ACTIVITIES
  1. Interacting with the representatives of the institute whenever possible at that location
  2. Organizing get-togethers during festivals
PROCESS OF CHAPTER FORMATION

Initially for the first year, TIMS, through locally active alumni, would be organizing formal get-togethers at these locations, during which volunteers would give their names for the designations, in the CHAPTER COMMITTEES, like President, Vice-president, Secretary and Treasurer(It would be purely honorary and voluntary). However if the number of volunteers exceed, then a formal election would be conducted, for each of the above mentioned positions of the chapter.

President is for a maximum period of 2 terms and can be re-elected after a gap of 1 year in continuation. For all the activities, the president and the vice president would be given the authority to plan and organize various activities. They should keep the institute informed about the activities to be conducted so that some representative from the institute can remain present for the same, whenever possible. Also the details of such events, whenever forwarded to the institute, it can be propagated as an active alumni association in various promotional documents of the institute. Secretary would take care of operational issues and the treasures would take care of the financial issues – the chapters would be financially self-sustaining, once formed. Initially the available database regarding the alumni located at that place, available with the institute would be provided to the committee, and the institute may also be approached for any kind of communication to the alumni, through mails.
