Kaka P. S. Tolani, the founder President of Gandhidham Collegiate Board was invited in this township of Adipur-Gandhidham, to take over Gandhidham Civil Engineering Institute, offering certificate course for Civil Overseers in 1960, Gandhidham Collegiate Board - an educational trust founded by Kaka, took over this institute & upgraded it to Polytechnic level.

A seed sown then has grown into a big tree, giving fruits to whole of Kachchh Region in the field of Higher Education.

"Vidya-Mandir" campus today has many faculties such as Tolani F. G. Polytechnic for Diploma in Civil, Mechanical, Electrical, Applied Mechanics, Home Science & Computer Aided Coltume Designing, Tolani College of Arts & Science, Tolani Commerce College with graduate and post-graduate courses, vocational courses professional courses like C. A. & I. C. W. A., Tolani Institute of Pharmacy for Diploma in Pharmacy & Tolani Institute of Management Studies, training students for Post-Graduate Diploma in Management. After Kaka P. S. Tolani, his daughters Late Mrs. J. H. Kanal and now Mrs. Anjana Hazari - current president of Gandhidham Collegiate Board have carried out this noble cause of service to the mankind by imparting education.
