Admission Process for regular Diploma Students

Admission process i.e. sale of admission forms & accepting of duly completed forms commences as soon as the S.S.C result is declared by Guj. Secondary Education Board. Admission forms are issued by Centralized Admission Committee at Govt. Polytechnic, Ambawadi, Ahmedabad and various other polytechnics in Gujarat state. Duly filled admission forms are accepted by same polytechnics, which have issued the forms. For the students of Kachchh district the Tolani F.G. Polytechnic have been fixed as a center for issuing & submission of duly completed admission form. Cost of Admission form is Rs. 100/- . 

Students who have passed S.S.C with Maths, Science & English with minimum 45% marks are eligible for admission in Polytechnic. In the admission form student is required to give various details like his name (i.e. as per S.S.C mark sheet), date of birth, marks obtained in all the seven subjects in S.S.C etc.

Normally following documents are to be enclosed with the admission form :

1. Attested copy of S.S.C marksheet.
2. Attested copy of School Leaving Certificate
3. A recent passport size photograph
4. Caste certificate (for SC/ST/BC/Ex-Service Men) are required.

A merit list is prepared by the centralized admission committee, Ahmedabad on the basis of forms received from all over Gujarat and students are called for interview by the Centralized Admission Committee, Ambawadi, Ahmedabad on the basis of their merit number and admission is granted to students into various courses on merit-cum-choice basis. 

For girls willing join Home Science course at T.F.G.Polytechnic, Adipur the forms are issued by the institute itself and the admission is done at the institute level. Cost of admission form for Home Science is Rs.20/-, here student is required to give various details like his name (i.e. as per S.S.C mark sheet), date of birth, marks obtained in all the seven subjects in S.S.C etc. To be eligible for admission to Diploma in Home Science Course student should have passed S.S.C exam with English Subject.

8. Caste certificate (for SC/ST/BC students) are required.

For GIRLS

Opting to join Diploma in Home Science, forms are released by the Institue and admission is done at the institute level.

Opting to join Diploma course in Computer Aided Costume Design and Dress Making should  apply in the form released by centralized admission committee and their admission is done by Centralized Diploma Admission Committee, Ahmedabad.

Admission Procedure For DLM Diploma Students

Intake capacity for DLM diploma courses in each of the Civil, Mechanical & Electrical branches is sixty seats. The admission for 30 seats in each discipline is done at the institute level i.e. admission forms are issued by the institute and merit list is prepared on the basis of the forms received from the applicants and admission is granted to the applicants on choice cum merits basis. Admission for remaining 30 seats is done by the centralized admission committee at Government Polytechnic, Ambawadi, Ahmedabad. Admission form for students seeking admission in this category and students seeking admission for regular diploma course is the same. Admission is granted to the students on the basis of the merit list prepared by Centralized Admission Committee at Ahmedabad. The fresh Xth passed students are directly admitted and those who are in service, they have should have at least  one year of experience in the discipline he wishes to join.
