Eye Donation

The hospital is located in the district of Kachchh in Gujarat State. The district of OPD ServicesKachhch being a desert has a very dry and arid climate with temperatures touching as high as 45 degree Centigrade in the months of May to June. Such extremities of temperature are the causes of various eye related ailments like Cataract, Trachoma, Band Shaped Keratopathy, Allergic Conjuctivitis and other corneal degenerations and dystrophies. These ailments if not treated in time may lead to blindness. In order to prevent visual impairments resulting from these curable ailments, the hospital has started Community Services to provide Door-Step Ophthalmic Services to the rural population. As a part of these community services the hospital on its own as well with the help of contributions received from various individual donors and local organizations conducts OPHTHALMIC CAMPS in nearby villages at regular intervals whereby the patients are diagnosed, given local treatment free of cost. Also those requiring various surgeries are brought to the hospital and operated free of cost. The hospital even bears the cost of transporting the patients and providing them food during their stay at the hospital.
