About the Department

Sanskrit, one of the Indian classical languages was introduced in this college since 1962 at compulsory and second subsidiary level. First subsidiary subject was started in 1990.

Change in syllabus during past 5 years
Few important changes were made in the syllabus in the year 2005. Mr. M.D. Dave is chairperson of Board of the Studies for Sanskrit for the year 2005-06.
Success rate in the students is above 90 % and drop out ratio is almost nil.
Library resources: About 800 books, out of which some are reference books also.
Besides formal lecture method, the faculty organizes seminars, group discussions, project work etc. related to the subject.
The department is looking forward to have Sanskrit as a principal subject in near future.

M. D. Dave

Mr. M D Dave is the Chief Coordinator of all the committees in the college. He possesses teaching experience of 13 years at UG level and now teaches at PG level at Kachchh University. He is the Chairperson of Sanskrit subject in Kachchh University. He is also a paper setter, evaluator and moderator at Kachchh University and Gujarat University. He has attended UGC sponsored workshops for collage teachers organized by Tolani commerce collage and Kachchh University of Bhuj. He has also presented literary papers in various conferences on Sanskrit Literature like ‘Sanskrit sahitya aur lalit kalaayein’, ‘Ujjain in Meghdoot’ etc.
Mr. Dave has delivered many lectures on Sanskrit language and literature.
He is the immediate Past President of Rotary Club of Adipur. |

He is a part time lecturer in this college for the past thirteen years. He also teaches at Mahila College, Bhachau.
He has attended a national workshop on ‘Asia and Asian Cities’ of KATHA and Dept. of Sindhi at Tolani college of Arts and Science in October 2005. |
