About the Department
Our university has come into existence just two years back and the process of the revision of syllabus for the university has started. Mr. T. J. Matani, HOD Mathematics, has been assigned this job for Mathematics. He has already designed syllabus of F.Y.B.Sc. (Mathematics), which is being taught from the academic year 2007-08. He is now working for the proposed syllabus for S.Y.B.Sc. with the help of the other Mathematics teachers of the university.
Result of the students of the department is always excellent. It is always more than 90 % as a whole and nearly 100 % for the Final year students.
The only drop out of the students takes place in the first year students, mainly because of their joining other professional courses.
Number of books for Mathematics in the central library is nearly sufficient for the students of the department, as the number of students in the department is usually small.
The department uses the college computer lab for the classes of Mathematics as well as other requirements related to computers.
To be in pace with the modern times, the department has started using Multimedia for the teaching purpose. This has increased the interest of the students in the subject as well as learning process. This has also made the students more aware of the use of Modern Technology in teaching and learning.

Department is looking forward to begin the P.G. center in the college, as maximum number of undergraduate students in the university are from our college with shining results every year.

Mr. T. J. Matani has more than in 25 years experience in the college teaching. He is the senior most member in Mathematics in KSKV Kachchh University and the Chairman of the Board of the Studies for the subject. He is also the Time-Table in-charge of the science faculty in the college. |

Dr. Rajesh Thakkar possesses a teaching experience of about 20 years. He obtained his Ph.D. under the ‘Faculty Improvement Program’ (FIP) of UGC and became the first Ph.D. in Mathematics from the Hemchandracharya North Gujarat University, Patan. He has served as a visiting faculty in the other institutes of the campus, namely Tolani Institute of Management Studies, Tolani Commerce College, Tolani institute for Excellence etc. He also worked as the coordinator of NAAC in 2007. He attended an ‘International conference on Group Theory’ at Rome ( Italy ) in 2003, where he was the only Indian participant amongst the 225 participants from all over the world. He has attended a National Conference at Hyderabad and has presented three research papers at International Conferences on Mathematics. |

Ms. Rita Guavalani topped the Gujarat University to bag the Gold Medal in the year 2000.

Ms. Allagamai got the highest overall marks in the Gujarat University in the year 1995, when the first regular batch of T. Y. B. Sc. (Mathematics) from the college was out.
- In 2006-07, Six students of Mathematics were amongst the top ten students of T. Y. B.Sc. from the KSKV Kachchh University. Niraj Shethia made the college proud by topping this list.
