About the Department

• Started in 1962 as a subisidiary subject.

• Change in syllabus during past 5 years

The syllabus was changed in 2003.
To comprehend the same, the faculty attended Refresher courses of 3 weeks in Ajmer and 3 weeks in Delhi respectively.

• Trends in success rate and drop out rate of students during last five years.

About 98% . Drop out ratio is almost nil.

• Learning resources of the departments like library, computers, laboratories and other such resources.

Various modern & traditional techniques are provided to the student for their development. The central library is equipped with various reference books, fiction books, magazines and even with the computer.
The History Exhibition managed by the teachers and student as a team involved chart display assignment, project work Audio-Video display, Multimedia Graphics etc.

• Enhancement of the learning resources during the past five years.

There has been significant enhancement in the learning resources during the past five years. The density of the learning material has increased well and to keep a track for the same, SOUL software for detection of books in the library has been installed.

• Modern Teaching method in practice other than the lecture method.

Various modern teaching methods have been put into practice to enhance the communicational skills of the students. Assignments are allotted to the students for the self-study. Presentations at regular intervals and project work are imparted from time to time.

• Plan of action

The expansion of the department up to the principal and post graduate level.
