About the Department

  • Started in 1971 as a principal subject. PG in Economics was started in 1991.

  • Trends in success rate drop out rate of students during the past five years.

Success rate of the students in principal Economics has been 95% every year. The drop out rate of the students has been approx. 5% .

  • Learning resources of the departments like library, computers, laboratories and other such resources.

Learning resources :- The department has a well stocked library with about 1557 books of economics related to the syllabus with some reference books and miscellaneous reading materials like magazines. The library also has a collection of some aids for the subject.

  • Enhancement of the learning resources during the past five years.

The library has been constantly updated and upgraded with the latest publications.

  • Modern teaching methods in practice other than the lecture method.

Besides formal lecture method, the faculty organizes programs, seminars, group discussions field work, project work chart displays etc. It also organizes industrial visit for the T.Y.B.A. students.

  • Plan of action of the department for the next five years.

To get the subject also at the subsidiary level and to start certain diploma courses like import & export trade etc related to economics.

Faculty Profile

Nameeta Asthana Saxena
M.A
HoD

Ms. Nameeta Asthana Saxena is an M.A. First class from Gujarat University with a teaching experience of 10 years at UG level. She has done Diploma in Journalism from Women’s Polytechnic, New Delhi in 1995, and has worked as a reporter with Times of India, Ahmedabad. She has also been a papersetter and examiner at Kutch University. She has attended various seminars and workshops like “Asia & Asian Cities” in 2005, “Sensitization and orientation of teachers” in 2005, “Higher education in knowledge and society” in 2001 etc. She is fond of creative writing. Her poems and articles are published in Tolani Campus Times.

Ms. Nausheen Nizani of TYBA. stood 1st in Gujarat in Economics & she got 3 gold medals from different organizations.

Ms. Geeta Bhavani stood 1st kutch in S.Y.B.A. (Eco). She also got a gold medal from Tolani Vidya Mandir.
