ONE-DAY WORKSHOP ON 'SELF-RESPECT'
A one-day workshop on 'self-respect' and 'self-confidence' was held on 10th December 2006 for hostel students. The workshop was conducted by famous Gujarati Poet and motivator Mr. Vanchit Kukmawala. About fifty students participated in the workshop.
There were three sessions in the workshop. Various topics related to woman and society was covered by group discussions, paper writing, debate, questioning etc.
Dr. Sushil Dharmani, Principal TCAS, Mrs. Alpa Dharmani and Prof. Sonal Vaishnav were the distinguished guests for the valedictory session. They shared their experiences with the students. A small memento was presented to Mr. Vanchit Kukmawala.
FAREWELL FUNCTION:
A farewell function was held in the hostel in March 2007 for the outgoing students. Mrs. Anjana Hazari, President GCB, Mr. Bulu Hazari, Trustee GCB and Prof. H K Kripalani, Administrator GCB were the distinguished guests of the occasion.
The program was started with the prayer. Prof. Vimmi Sadarangani, Hostel Supdt. gave her welcome speech. Students welcomed the guests by giving flowers and mementos.
An entertainment show comprising of songs, dances, mime etc was presented. Farewell girls were given exclusive titles for their behavior, look etc like 'Talkative girl of the hostel', 'Most religious girl of the hostel', 'TV chipkoo', 'Most talented girl' etc. All were presented small souvenirs as memorabilia.
Mrs. Anjana Hazari encouraged the students by her words. Mr. Hazari showered his blessings to all. Prof. Kripalani inspired the students by sharing his experiences of hostel days. The program was conducted by the students very efficiently.
SINGING COMPETITION
On 3rd August 2007, a competition showcasing singing talent of the students was held. Students sang filmi and non filmi songs in Hindi and Gujarati. Ms. Monali Jani, who reached in the top 13 at Vadodara final of Indian Ideal, a reality show, was the judge of the competition. Ms. Kastoor stood first and Ms. Neha Shukla got second position in the competition.
FRIENDS FOREVER
A get-together was held on 4th August 2007 to celebrate Friendship Day in the hostel. There was fun and frolic allover. Students played various games like puzzle solving, make the card castle, mark the difference, sack race etc.
There were few performances of songs and dances. All enjoyed the game 'Do you know your friend' very much. Eight pairs took part in it. They were asked five questions about likes and dislikes of their friends.
The program was planned and conducted by Ms. Neji, Ms. Shabina and Ms. Daksha very efficiently.
ESSAY WRITING COMPETITION
An essay writing competition was held for the hostel students in July 2007. The topic
was 'My first day in the hostel' for newcomers, and 'My experiences in the hostel life' for others. Students penned down their joys and sorrows of hostel life.
The result was as under :

Ms. Urvi Solanki (TCC) second position
Ms. Seema Devnani (CACDDM) Third position
CARD MAKING COMPETITION
Making greeting card is also an art, that's why a competition of greeting card making was held on 6th August 2007. Students showed their creativity by paper, colour, dry flowers, leaves, collage etc.
Ms. Daksha Halai (TYBSC) got first position for her unique card made by 'pipal' leaves lettering. Ms. Juita (SYBA) got second prize for her cut-out card and Ms. Hetal Gor (FYBSc) got third prize.
Prof. Papia Chatterjee and Prof. Sonal Vaishnav were the judges of the competition.
MEHANDI COMPETITION
Girls love to put decorative Mehandi on their hands, that's why this year, a Mehandi competition was held on 9th August 2007 in the hostel. Students showed their creativity by putting arabic mehandi, wedding mehandi etc.
Ms. Pratiksha and Ms. Nirmala, senior students of the hostel were the judges of the competition. The result was as under:

NAVRATI 2008
SPT Girls Hostel for the first time celebrated “Navratri” in a traditional way, on 19 October, 2007. Prizes were also distributed for best dressed player and best player which were won by Anamika Sukla and Pavagadhi Kreena respectively.
DRAWING COMPETITION
A drawing competition was also organized in December 2007 where Nejimole Rahim stood first and Pooja Rathod stood second.
FAREWELL PARTY
On 22 January the hostel had celebrated the farewell party. The chief guests were Didi Anjana Hazari and Shri B.G. Hazari. 45 girls were given farewell. The whole party alongwith snacks, games, music and dance were arranged by the Hostelites girls.
All the activities were conducted under the guidance of Prof. Vimmi Sadarangani, Hostel Supdt.
